Celebrating our sixty-second
season of making a joyful noise unto the Lord.
|
The Lutheran Choir of Chicago is
a unique sacred choral ensemble with a rich spiritual tradition
and an ever-expanding repertoire. For more than fifty years,
our classic a cappella style has enlightened, educated
and entertained the people of Chicago and the world.
LCC was founded in 1947 as part
of the centennial celebration of the Lutheran Church Missouri
Synod. What began as a celebration is now a select group of
performers ranging from different spiritual backgrounds who
share a common desire to make a joyful noise.
Whether performing from the chancel
or from center stage, the Lutheran Choir of Chicago presents
a wide range of styles and compositions with a spirit that is
contagious. From Bach to Brahms to contemporary song, LCC is
a popular group at places of worship, music festivals, civic
events, concert halls, and on radio and television programs.
LCC reaches out to people everywhere with musical reflections
of our common Christian heritage.
LCC offers an opportunity for educational
and technical growth. We sponsor choral festivals and clinics.
We have commissioned and premiered original compositions. Members
are encouraged to attend specialized performance clinics and
master classes. Individual instruction in vocal technique is
a benefit of membership.
LCC is committed to exploring the
full universe of creative vocal expression by pursuing unique
artistic challenges. We seek to blend vocal talent with an array
of creative disciplines, including instrumentalists, dance,
theatre troups and other choirs. We have produced several CDs
and videos for public broadcast.
LCC toured Scandinavia in 1998,
and in 2000 we toured Austria, Slovakia and Hungary
